Maui Motion Pictures was created by Patrick Dougherty. Patrick has over 40 years of Television & Photographic Production experience in Hawaii, California & Nation Wide. He worked for KSBW a NBC Affiliate, KION a CBS Affiliate, and KCBA a FOX News Affiliate covering the Central Coast of California News, Commercial Video Productions, Documentaries, 30 minute TV Programs for Central Coast Residents & Visitors. He also created National Television Shows for COMCAST & PBS that included several half hour National Cooking Shows with Chef John Pisto, Wendy Brodie & Dorothy McNet, featuring Nationally recognized Celebrity Chefs from a variety of restaurants from around the world.

He also produced the Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital Television Program called “SVMHS Lifeline TV” based in the Central Coast of California. The TV show aired locally on KSBW an NBC Affiliate & COMCAST Cable TV based in the Central Coast of California. Patrick got his start by creating 30 second Television Commercials that aired on COMCAST Cable Channels in Monterey, Salina & Santa Cruz Counties. Patrick pitched a new concept of Television Advertising to the General Manager of Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital so that the SVMH hospital could have its very own News & Information Hospital TV Program that features the Doctors, Nurses and Officers of Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital. The Hospital has a printed monthly SVMH Lifeline Magazine and Patrick used the same concept in the weekly show and called it “LifeTimeTV”. The TV show is a tremendous success with the local residents and visitors of Monterey County. This half hour TV Program educated the viewers on the products and services that are offered by SVMH. The show features Doctors who specialize in various procedures and treatment of disorders such as Oncology, Hip and Knee Replacement Surgery, Heart Care, PreNatal Care and other various Medical Procedures. They also have yearly programs such as Children’s Miracle Network specials. Doctors and Staff would show some of their Cutting Edge Procedures & Medical practices as well as the latest equipment and medical procedures used to treat their Patients. The Lifetime TV show features Patients who are currently under doctor care and they would share their story and success with SVMHS.

Several Stanford Doctors were featured on the SVMH Show and this concept of a Hospital TV Program was later adopted by Stanford University Hospital and they created their own TV Program that is currently Broadcast in the San Francisco Bay Area today. For Salinas Valley Memorial Hospital, Lifeline TV Program is one of most successful Marketing tools that they have ever had. SVMHS has the show broadcast several times a day on COMCAST Cable and also on NBC affiliate KSBW for Sunday evening. This was way before Streaming Video, YouTube, etc.

Prior to moving to California, Patrick created, operated and owned a Cable Television Station on Garden Isle Cablevision on Kauai, Channel 15. He covered local island events, news, sports and also featured a one hour live nightly show where viewers would phone in and speak with guests during a Live Broadcast for local viewers as well as visiting tourists to the island of Kauai in the State of Hawaii. Patrick has primarily Produced & Directed Television Cooking Shows, Infomercials, Commercials and Documentaries way before streaming videos on the internet. Television was the only way to watch video before the advent of smart phones, streaming movies and videos, etc.

He started his Photography speciality as a Yearbook staff photographer at Kailua High School which is located on the east side of Oahu where he attended school in his teenage years. His father was a Television Director and Producer for KHON, previously a NBC affiliate in Honolulu. Patrick’s Father, William Dougherty, Produced and Directed Local TV Shows Broadcast throughout the Hawaiian Islands. Programs such as “Checker & Pogo” and “Captain Honolulu” and “Lucky Luck” in the 1950-60s when Black and White Live TV was just beginning in the Hawaii state. William Dougherty, Patrick’s father, was a pioneer in Hawaii and later taught Film & Television classes at the University of Hawaii. He created TV Shows and Commercials for primarily NBC as well as other Network Broadcast Channels. The whole concept of creating TV Programs had a profound influence on Patrick.

Patrick currently enjoys creating music video productions, documentaries, infomercials, commercials, and pretty much any other video production. He also excels in portrait photography on the beautiful beaches of Maui for Lovers, Families, Weddings and Business Productions. Maui is the most Picturesque and Beautiful place in the world according to Huffington Post, Conde Nast and various other Travel publications.

He specializes in helping realtors, owners, property managers showcase their beautiful properties through effective photography and video marketing.
